Some my say wait a minute. Pani Poni was specifically designed to make fun of anime tropes such as this. Pani Poni was originally made in the year 2000. Every example I have following is from anime since.

My how times have changed. When originally released in America Full Metal Panic DVDs just had the mecha on the covers.

Now you see the girls on the covers.

 When looking for the DVD covers this is what popped up first:

I totally get things like light novel, fanfiction, Deviant Art, and especially yuri,

but pony? Bear? (Yuri Kuma Panic?) Horse? HAMSTER!?

The reason I posted this video to Twitter and then to Blogger instead of the usual way via YouTube is because more than likely it would be taken down. I did try to upload the video directly to Blogger but it wouldn't play in any browser.

Here's a little funny thing I see that you probably wouldn't:

Even accounting for my penchant for assigning upload times of my choosing, still, this Tweet and blog post was done on January 31.

I really wish Twitter would allow us to edit tweets for spelling errors instead of having to delete them.

Being able to post videos to Twitter opens up some possibilities. I've noticed more than a couple of anime with similar sequences that would be too much as an animated GIF.

One final thing to say about Twitter video option:

For some reason Twitter videos default to mute. Which defeats the purpose of the Liz and Patty Thompson #souleater video I just tweeted.

Another funny aside: I just noticed that the video plays with sound here on the blog. For some reason not on Twitter.
